Campbell Hall
College Avenue Campus

Campbell is a traditional residence hall built in 1956. It is one of the “River Halls” that overlook the Raritan River. This building was named for William Henry Campbell (born 1808). He was a Professor of Biblical Literature, Theological Seminary; Professor of Belles-Letters, President of Rutgers College; & founder of the Suydam Street Reformed Church in New Brunswick. Campbell Hall is located near 12 other residence halls on College Ave, making one feel connected with their community. Campbell Hall has an active Residence Hall Associationthrough which students can get involved with leadership, advocacy, and programming initiatives for their halls. This organization also allows for students to branch out to members in other halls across campus.

Pros:
- Convenient location: 5 minute walk to the Rutgers Student Center, Brower Commons, and the Student Activities Center
- Newly renovated main lounge
- Kitchen on first floor; available for all residents to use

Cons:
- Noisy: You can hear traffic and emergency vehicles at all hours of the day
- Garbage trucks come every morning and are extremely loud when picking up the dumpsters
- No air conditioning (only in the main lounge and study lounge on the main level)
- Not every level has an enclosed main lounge
